PAST SF FAN FORCE EVENTS - 2005 New Years Eve Members of the SF Fan Force rang in the new year dancing to 80's tunes at The Cat Club in San Francisco. EVENT PHOTOS: SFFF Holiday Party A potluck party and "White Bantha" gift exchange held in the rec. room at tatooinepadme's apartment complex in San Francisco. Good drinks (Matt's Mustafar Punch), good food, fun company, and great DVD entertainment was enjoyed by all. Tatooinepadme's birthday was celebrated as well! EVENT PHOTOS:
Star Wars Book Signing - Chronicle Books (Metreon San Francisco) Steve Sansweet along with fellow authors Pablo Hidalgo and Pete Vilmer made a book signing appearance for "The Star Wars Poster Book" and "Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels". Costumed members of the Golden Gate Garrison 501st and Rebel Legion were on hand for the event. EVENT PHOTOS:
Star Wars Book Signing - Borders (Union Square San Francisco) Steve Sansweet along with fellow authors Pablo Hidalgo and Pete Vilmer gave an informative presentation about "The Star Wars Poster Book" and "Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels". After the presentation the authors met with fans for book signings. Costumed members of the Golden Gate Garrison 501st and Rebel Legion were on hand for the event. EVENT PHOTOS: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader Book Release The San Francisco 501st Golden Gate Garrison and the SF Fan Force celebrated the release of the latest SW Novel "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader." EVENT PHOTOS: Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire Members of the SF Fan Force attended the IMAX showing of Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire at the Sony Metreon on opening weekend. Tour of Rancho Obi-Wan Star Wars author Steve Sansweet gave the SF Fan Force a special tour at his ranch which houses the largest private collection of Star Wars memorabilia in the world. EVENT PHOTOS: VIDEO: Star Wars Episode III DVD Release (Media Play Milpitas) Members of the SF Fan Force joined the Golden Gate Garrison to promote the release of Revenge Of The Sith on DVD at Media Play. EVENT PHOTOS: Star Wars Episode III DVD Release (Virgin Mega Store San Francisco) Star Wars fans celebrated the release of Episode III at the Virgin Mega Store while raising $271 for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief. Costumed fans from the Rebel Legion and 501st Golden Gate Garrison were on hand at the event which featured a raffle, trivia contest, costume contest for the younglings, and other fun giveaways (stickers, key chains, iron-ons & candy). A special thanks to Master Replicas, Advanced Graphics, and Sideshow Collectibles who provided the raffle prizes which included MR Lightsabers, a rare ANH Luke Skywalker 1/4 scale figure, and cardboard standees. EVENT PHOTOS: Jabba's Palace Halloween Costume Party The Alpha Bar in San Francisco threw a Star Wars themed Halloween Bash with SW-drinks, a DJ spinning SW-themed music, and movies playing on the plasma screens. Proceeds from the party were donated to Hurricane Katrina relief. EVENT PHOTOS: VIDEO: Serenity Midnight Premiere (Sony Metreon San Francisco) The SF Fan Force put on their brown coats to attend the highly anticipated midnight premier of Serenity, a feature film based on the television series Firefly. EVENT PHOTOS: American Graffiti In The Park (Washington Square Park San Francisco) Members of the SF Fan Force gathered for Film Night in the Park in Washington Square for an outdoor viewing of George Lucas' American Graffiti. FIDM Dressing A Galaxy Grand Opening (Los Angeles,
CA) The SF Fan Force attended the public opening day of the largest Star Wars Costume exhibit ever held - Dressing A Galaxy: The Costumes of Star Wars. The exhibit was shown at the Fashion Institute of Design And Merchandising Galleries in Los Angeles, and featured over 100 costumes and props from all 6 Star Wars Films. The exhibit focused on showcasing Trisha Biggar's work from the Star Wars Prequels and coincided with the release of her book "Dressing A Galaxy." Our own SFFF City Rep Matt Tolosa was interviewed for this article in Star Wars Insider Supplement Online, and a photo of the SFFF was featured as well. ARTICLES:

Road Trip to Los Angeles SFFF members spent a weekend of fun in the sun taking in the sights and culture of Los Angeles. Saturday evening was spent at the LACMA viewing the King Tut Exhibit. Sunday was Disneyland Day, and Monday was spent celebrating SFFF City Rep Matt Tolosa's Birthday at the FIDM Star Wars Exhibit (see above). EVENT PHOTOS: California State Fair (Sacramento, CA) The SF Fan Force joined fellow members of the 501st Central Garrison and Rebel Legion Endor Base at the California State Fair in Sacramento. The fair featured a Star Wars display which included: - Autographs from Star Wars personalities (Peter Mayhew - Chewbacca) EVENT PHOTOS: Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Screening for Cure Autism Now CAN (Cure Autism Now) held a very special screening of the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and sold exclusive limited editions T-shirts designed for the event by Alan Lee. 100% of the proceeds from the event were donated to finding a cure for Autism, a cause very close to the heart for Alan Lee and SF Fan Force member Callisto_DAerisian. August Meeting - Letterman Digital Arts Center The SF Fan Force met up with fellow San Diego Star Wars Society members at the Letterman Digital Arts Center in the Presidio. Afterward, the SDSWS journeyed to Steve Sansweet's for a tour of his Star Wars Collection, while the SFFF checked out the Exploratorium at the nearby Palace of Fine Arts. EVENT PHOTOS: July Meeting - Letterman Digital Arts Center The SF Fan Force visited the new home of ILM & LucasArts and held it's monthly meeting in the park at the Presidio. Comic-Con 2005 - San Diego, CA Comic-Con is the largest annual pop-culture convention in the United States. Fans met some of their favorite stars from the Star Wars triology and Prequels including Matthew Wood (General Grievous), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), Ray Park (Darth Maul), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and a special appearance in the Star Wars Pavilion by Natalie Portman (Padme Amidala). There was also a huge lineup of panels featuring the Cast of King Kong, the academy award winning special effects team from Weta for Chronicles of Narnia, as well as the cast & crew from Sci-Fi's Battlestar Galactica. Fan Force 4th of July Barbecue The Fan Force gathered for food and fun at Eva's to celebrate the 4th. Marin County Fair - San Rafael, CA The Marin County Fair featured a Lucasfilm creature and model exhibit as well as some of the new Star Wars games.
