Dragon*Con Report in Bantha Tracks Star Wars fans were out in full force at the annual Dragon*Con convention in Atlanta. The sci-fi and pop culture convention features a parade, panels with popular stars from TV and film, and costume parties! Where else will you find Chew-Box-A? Leia, Luke and an X-Wing Pilot riding in a limo - "I have a bad feeling about this"! Star Wars Insider - A Galaxy Not So Far Away! Star Wars Insider issue #96 includes this article about the recent Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit. The touring exhibit made a stop at the Los Angeles California Science Center earlier this year, and several SF Fan Force members (Kathy, Matt, and Dale) took a road trip to meet with other Fan Force, Rebel Legion, and 501st members on "Fan Day". A photo from their gathering is featured in the article on page 11.

& Starwars.com Some familiar faces from the San Francisco Fan Force were seen in reports from Celebration IV. Matt Tolosa is quoted on page 69 of Star Wars Insider Issue #95 - The Best of Celebration IV. The "A New Hope" Leia Costumers (including Kay_Dee) can also be seen on page 71. Additionally, Star Wars.com has a great wrap up of C4 - It's a Hit: A Record Breaking C4.
TIME Magazine - Celebration IV The June 11th 2007 issue of TIME magazine mentions the anniversary of Star Wars in the "Dashboard" section of page 20. SFFF member Kay_Dee along with other TFN members Solari_Wielder and Benae_Quee are featured in a photo with a caption that reads "Los Angeles - Star Wars turns 30."
G4's Olivia Munn from "Attack of the Show" donned the famous Princess Leia Metal Bikini at C4. However, many of the Leia costumers from TheForce.net continually found their way into her convention coverage. Whoops! Kay Dee and Lauren (wearing a costume made by SiaLanWezz) were just a few of the Leias featured in the skit. JedHead1 and NivekSkywalker were also spotted in some of the other convention reports on Attack of the Show. SF Fan Force In Geek Monthly and Super 7 San Francisco Fan Force members Matt, Dale, and Alison are featured in the Wondercon article of Geek Monthly's Issue 4.
Fan Force members Matt and "Elmoizme" are also featured in Super 7 Magazine Issue 15.

Members of the San Francisco Fan Force were contacted by USPS Public Affairs representatives to help commemorate the unveiling of the R2-D2 mailbox in San Francisco's Union Square. "With less than 24 hours notice, dedicated fans from the San Francisco Fan Force, Rebel Legion, and the 501st Golden Gate Garrison greeted R2 as he arrived at the corner of Post and Powell at 6:00 am on March 16th" reports Princess Leia (Kathy). Yahoo News Group Re-launch! The San Francisco Fan Force Yahoo mailing group has been revamped. Members are encouraged to register for this private news group in order to get e-mail notifications of important news, monthly meeting times, and event notices. Please be sure to tell us your TFN user name when you register. It is advisable that you edit your membership preferences to receive either: a) Daily Digest - please check this option if you'd like one e-mail a day that consolidates all the messages that were posted that day b) Special Notices - at the very least, make sure you are checked off for "special Notices" That way you will get e-mail notices from our council members to remind you of monthly meeting dates, events, and other important news. E-mail spam will be kept to a minimum in this group because all members must first be approved by moderators. All new members are also put on temporary 'moderate' mode so that potential spammers will first be screened out. The message boards at TFN will still remain as our primary means of chit chatting online. We don't want to create a need for people to start checking more message groups than they have to.
